The we process our decision making process it can break it down to three component: Emotional mind, Reasonable/Logical mind and wise mind.
Reasonable mind: The mind is often logical and focused. The decision-making process that based on a reasonable mind are usually takes more time to process. While focusing on logic can be advantageous, the Reasonable Mind sometimes lacks compassion or understanding. Over-relying on logic may prevent you from connecting with others or empathizing with their feelings, which is crucial in personal relationships and emotionally charged situations.
Emotional mind: The emotional mind is emotion driven usually and decisions are usually based on feelings. When driven solely by emotion, decisions can be short-sighted or reactionary, potentially leading to regret or harm to yourself and others. Emotional Mind is essential for understanding and empathizing, but without Reasonable Mind, it can steer us away from thoughtful, balanced choices.
Wise mind: The wise mind is to focus on the balance of both world and usually the decision made by wise mind are often a better decision making. Wise Mind isn’t always easy, but mindfulness exercises can help. Practices like deep breathing, journaling, or pausing before making a decision can bring you closer to Wise Mind. By stepping back and observing both emotions and logic, you’re more likely to make choices that align with your long-term values and goals.
Life decision example example: The one example I can give is the decision to get married. If the decision to get married is logically driven, it will take longer and might not happen in the end, but if the decision to get married is based on emotions, it is often spontaneous without enough consideration. When the decision is made with a wise mind meaning the marriage will more likely to happen and with slightly better preparation.
